On January 1, 2024, the subsistence minimum for children was increased in Ukraine. This also affected the amount of maintenance. This was announced by the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine.
In particular, the subsistence minimum for children under 6 years old was increased to UAH 2563; for children aged 6 to 18 years, the amount is UAH 3,196.
The ministry noted that today the minimum guaranteed amount of alimony is:
- for children under 6 years old – 1,281.5 UAH;
- for children from 6 to 18 years old – 1,598 UAH.
The maximum amount of maintenance must not exceed 10 subsistence levels. For children under 6 years old – 25,630 UAH. For children from 6 to 18 years old – 31,960 UAH.
Maintenance is calculated according to the scheme:
- for a child – 1/4 of income;
- for two children – 1/3 of income;
- for three or more children – 1/2 of the income.
In addition, from the age of 14, a child receives the right to independently manage maintenance and be its direct recipient
