Custody dispute leads to shooting in Angie

ANGIE, La. (WGNO) — Two people are in the custody of the Washington Parish Sheriff's Office after a custody dispute led to a shooting in Angie on Wednesday, April 10.

WPSO reported that deputies responded to a call about a domestic dispute related to a custody dispute at an Angie home around 12:45 p.m

While en route to the scene, officers said they received a report of a shooting that left at least one victim taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

According to WPSO, the shooting occurred “between a person inside the residence and three people who arrived at the scene in a vehicle.”

Tornado lands in Slidell

After an investigation, officers arrested 24-year-old Scipio Burton and 24-year-old Marquez Smith in connection with the shooting.

Burton is charged with attempted second-degree murder.

Smith is charged with second-degree murder.

The investigation is ongoing.
