David Hasselhoff and ex Pamela Bach agree to reduce spousal support after he claims “less than $4,000 in liquid assets.”
David Hasselhoff's $21,000 monthly child support bill is making it impossible for the actor to consider retirement, and now he's asking a judge to release him from the payments.
The Baywatch actor filed legal action to either completely withdraw or significantly reduce spousal support from his ex-wife Pamela Bach, whom he divorced in 2006 after 16 years of marriage.
According to documents obtained by PEOPLE, Hasselhoff has paid his ex-wife more than $2.3 million since their divorce a decade ago, not including the money he spent supporting his daughters at the time of the split were teenagers.
“I am 63 years old and am at an age where I should prepare for retirement and not have to continue working to pay [Bach’s] support,” Hasselhoff stated in the legal documents.
With his gross monthly income listed in the documents at $112,000, the actor said it was impossible for him to continue covering his expenses and supporting his wife.
Furthermore, Hasselhoff notes that Bach, whom he describes as “an attractive woman with excellent physical health,” did little to find work to support herself.
She worked as an actress in the '80s and '90s, but since her divorce, according to the documents, she has only had one acting role, on Celebrity Big Brother in 2011. Bach is described by Hasselhoff in the documents as “very capable, imaginative and talented” and continues to enjoy a “privileged lifestyle” without having made “reasonable efforts” to support herself.
