Three people charged after custody exchange in Florida ends in shooting

NEWS. WHAT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE A PEACEFUL CUSTODY MEETING IN WEST PALM BEACH ENDED WITH GUNSHOOTING. OUR CALEB CALIFANO HAS MORE DETAILS AND THE THREE PEOPLE NOW ARE CHARGED. THIS INCIDENT APPEARED TO BE A CUSTODY MEETING GONE WRONG. NOW THREE PEOPLE ARE STANDING BEFORE A JUDGE IN THE PALM BEACH COUNTY JAIL THIS MORNING. BRIANA KING, ALAN HUNTLEY AND JULIA GAYNOR ARE ALL BEING CHARGED WITH DIFFERENT CHARGES THIS MORNING AFTER INVESTIGATORS SAY A CUSTODY MEETING ENDED WITH GUNSHOOTING. THE ARREST REPORT INCLUDES THE MOTHER OF HUNTLEY'S CHILD DRIVING FROM JACKSONVILLE TO WEST PALM BEACH TO PICK UP HER CHILD FROM A DOCTOR'S APPOINTMENT BEFORE SCHOOL STARTS. THE REPORT DESCRIBES THAT WHEN THE MOTHER ARRIVED, BOTH HUNTLEY AND HIS GIRLFRIEND GAYNOR GET INTO AN ARGUMENT WITH HER ABOUT THE MOTHER BEING LATE AND THAT IT ENDED IN A FIGHT BETWEEN THE MOTHER AND GAYNOR. THE REPORT DESCRIBES THAT HUNTLEY WAS ALSO PHYSICALLY ASSAULTED DURING THE SITUATION. INVESTIGATORS SAY THAT'S WHEN KING HUNTLEY'S NEIGHBOR CAME OUT OF HER APARTMENT AND POINTED A GUN AT THE MOTHER. THE MOTHER'S BROTHER, WHO WAS TRAVELING WITH HER, RAN TO KING TO TRY TO PROTECT HIS SISTER. THE ARREST REPORT DESCRIBES THAT THE BROTHER FORCED KING'S HAND UP. THEN KING FIRED ONE ROUND INTO THE AIR. THEN THE FIGHT OVER AND THE LAW DEVICE ARRIVED MOMENTALLY. AFTER REVIEWING CELL PHONE VIDEOS OF THE INCIDENT, INVESTIGATORS HAVE CHARGED KING WITH ATTEMPTED SECOND DEGREE MURDER WITH A FIREARM. A custody exchange ended in gunfire on Thursday, according to investigators, leading to the arrest of three people who are now facing charges. The incident began when the mother of Allen Huntley's child was traveling from Jacksonville to West Palm Beach to pick up the child from a doctor's appointment. According to police, an argument broke out between the mother, Huntley, and his girlfriend, Jaleahia Gainer, over the mother's tardiness. The confrontation quickly escalated into a physical altercation. During the altercation, Brianna King, a neighbor of Huntley's, came out of her apartment with a gun. Investigators realized the mother's brother, who had been accompanying her, tried to intervene and pushed King's hand away. King then fired a shot into the air. This ended the fight, and police later arrived. After reviewing cellphone footage of the incident, authorities charged King with attempted second-degree murder with a firearm. Gainer was charged with aggravated assault and Huntley with assault. All three defendants appeared in court Friday morning and are expected to return for further arraignment next month.
