Lenway, 33, said she didn't know who shot her, but she knew it was a woman. She later learned the shooter was allegedly Larson, who had babysat her son before she dated Amacher and moved in with him. Lenway said she was concerned because of their age difference.
On the first day of testimony last week, jurors learned that Amacher met Larson when she took classes with him as a teenager. Lenway and Amacher also met at his martial arts studio before they began dating and moved in together in 2013.
Lenway moved out of Amacher's home in 2015 before finding out she was pregnant. Their son was born in 2016 and they tried to care for the child together.
Lenway testified she married Minneapolis police officer Donovan Ford on Oct. 28. Prosecutors say when she began dating Ford in 2017, her former boyfriend began filing false child abuse reports against the couple.
To stop the allegations, Ford resigned from the Minneapolis Police Department and moved to Colorado to work for another police department for more than a year. Lenway testified that the allegations continued even after Ford was no longer in the state.
Amacher complained of domestic violence in a case that went to trial in Ramsey County in November 2020. Lenway said Larson testified in Amacher's favor and falsely claimed that Lenway and Ford abused their son.
