It's a great time to be a fan of Miranda Lambert. She's currently gearing up to release a new album, which means there's plenty of new music on the way. Lambert has already released two songs from the upcoming project. Both “Wranglers” and “Dammit Randy” were happy breakup songs. Now she's teasing a third new track on social media.
Lambert began treating her fans to clips of a song called “Alimony” on Sunday (July 21). She posted a video of herself and members of her band dancing to the song. Then yesterday (July 22), she shared another video featuring the song. In the second clip, Lambert walks past her tour bus in various outfits. The caption reads, “Heading into a big week.”

A look at her tour schedule shows that Lambert only has two shows this week. She'll perform at Trustmark Park in Pearl, Mississippi on Friday and at the Rock the Country Festival in Anderson, South Carolina on Saturday. After that, she'll have a few weeks off before hitting the road again in mid-August. So the “big week” could mean a few things. For one, it could be hinting at the release of “Alimony” later this week. At the same time, she could be ready to share more information about her upcoming album before the end of the week. So far, she hasn't announced the title or release date for the new project.
What we know about Miranda Lambert's new album
So far, we know that this will be an exciting release for fans of Miranda Lambert's older albums. With a new label behind her, she has full creative control over her music. In addition, she is working on the record with long-time friend and collaborator Jon Randall.
Of the sound of the upcoming album, Lambert said, “It's very country. You can tell we made it in Texas.” She proved that with the first two samples on the collection. Both “Wranglers” and “Dammit Randy” fit the description “very country.” Judging by the snippet of “Alimony” she shared on social media, the record's next release seems to fit well with the first two.
Fans around the world will have to wait and see what happens next.
