According to media reports, Patil accused the New South Wales Department of Communities and Justice and some of her neighbors of screwing up her life because of the suicide note that was found.

Patil’s older son was reportedly suffering from ulcerative colitis — an inflammatory bowel disease that’s an immune disease. This disease also worsened over time, forcing him to be hospitalized.

Six months had passed and her son’s health was not improving. Patil blamed the doctors and filed a lawsuit against them for failing to provide adequate treatment.

In response, doctors filed a complaint against Patil with child welfare services, allegedly accusing her of improperly caring for the children at home, which caused the illness.
