Mr. Jonas and Ms. Turner are in the middle of a divorce after four years of marriage.
Actors Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner have agreed to a temporary custody arrangement for their two daughters as part of their divorce. Under a court order, Ms. Turner and Mr. Jonas would have alternating custody of their 1- and 3-year-old daughters for a period of one and a half to three weeks until Jan. 7, USA Today reported.
The two children will be under Ms. Turner’s care from October 9th to October 21st. Afterwards they will be under the care of Mr. Jonas from October 21st to November 2nd. The children will spend Thanksgiving with Mr. Jonas, while Ms. Turner will spend Christmas and New Year’s Day with them. During the designated period, each parent is permitted to temporarily travel with their children to any state in the United States or the United Kingdom, the outlet said.
The agreement also states that both parents must submit a “status report letter” before Dec. 23 “outlining the status of the mediation between the two at that time.”
This came after Ms Turner filed a lawsuit against her ex-husband to return their daughters to the UK. She accused Mr Jonas of refusing to hand over her daughters’ passports so the girls could return to their “forever home”. The complaint called for the “immediate return” of her children “unlawfully detained” in New York City from “their habitual residence” in the United Kingdom. The court documents say the former couple made England their permanent residence in April 2023 because they wanted their children to go to school there.
But shortly after the actress filed her complaint, Mr. Jonas released a statement denying her claims and saying he believed the two had agreed to work on a co-parenting plan. The estranged couple then agreed to keep their children in New York.
Mr. Jonas and Ms. Turner are in the middle of a divorce after four years of marriage. They tied the knot in 2019 after nearly three years of dating. Earlier this month, Mr Jonas filed for divorce from Ms Turner, saying the relationship had “irretrievably broken down”.
