Florida mom kills her two children and herself after losing custody battle | world news

In a possible murder-suicide case, a Florida mother killed her two children before killing herself after losing a custody battle with her ex. Brandy Hutchins is said to have turned the gun on herself after killing her 10-year-old son and 19-year-old daughter. The incident happened in the family’s mobile home. Brandy’s daughter had another father and was not involved in the custody battle.

A judge previously ordered Brandy to turn her son over to his father, her ex, who lives in Maine, the Polk County sheriff said, according to the New York Post. Although she was expected to relinquish custody of her son last week, she failed to show up for the appointment, violating the court order. Officers attempted to locate the boy, identified by his father as Aiden Hutchins, over the weekend. However, according to Sheriff Grady Judd, they discovered his body along with those of his half-sister and mother on Sunday August 27 at a house in Lake Wales.

“He will always be in my heart”

Aiden’s father took to social media to share the news of his son’s death. It is with a heavy heart that I am writing this to update everyone on my son Aiden Hutchins who went missing and was taken away on August 25th 2023 by his mother who chose to murder him. He was killed by her today, August 27, 2023. He will always be in my heart and he doesn’t deserve it. Rest in peace my sweet boy, I’ll see you again. Love you,” Hutchins Race wrote on Facebook, sharing photos of Aiden.

“Brandy Hutchins . . . has now, according to all the leads in our investigation, murdered her 10-year-old child and her 19-year-old child – murdered them and then shot himself,” Sheriff Grady said during a news conference. “I can’t think of a more horrifying circumstance.” Grady added, “There was no indication that violence was to ensue.”
