Popular singer and rapper Yo Yo Honey Singh is once again in the headlines, not because of his latest track, but because of his personal life, which is getting pretty much out of hand these days. The singer found himself in a legal battle with his wife Shalini Talwar after she filed a domestic violence case against him and his family in court. Not only that, Shalini had also accused Honey Singh of adultery since she filed for divorce. However, the court gave the couple some time to reconsider their decision to split.
However, it seems like both Shalini Talwar and Honey Singh are pretty clear about their future and have had enough of each other already. For the uninitiated, the ex-husband and wife have known each other for more than 17 years when they were childhood lovers. On January 23, 2011, Honey Singh tied the knot with his lover Shalini. It was January 2021 when the couple had completed ten years of wedded bliss and no one was aware of the issues they were facing in their marriage.

According to a report in Times Now Hindi, Honey Singh and Shalini Talwar are now officially divorced after the Saket District Court accepted their petition for divorce. The ex-couple is now set to move on in their lives and it is reported that both Honey and Shalini are quite happy with the decision. As soon as it became known that Honey and Shalini’s divorce petition had been accepted, everyone started asking about the child support payments. If the report is to be believed, the Punjabi singer paid a whopping Rs. 1 crore in alimony for Shalini. The singer gave a check for Rs. 1 crore in an envelope to Shalini during her trial in court.
For the layman, the divorce reports of Honey Singh and his ex-wife Shalini Talwar made the headlines for the first time in August 2021. During this time it was reported that Shalini had asked for an alimony payment of Rs. 10 crores. If the speculation is to be believed, it was reported by multiple news sources that Honey Singh’s then-wife, Shalini, had been seeking Rs. 10 crores compensation from the singer. Reflecting on her marriage to Honey Singh in a statement to the court, Shalini said she felt like a farm animal facing cruelty. Shalini filed this lawsuit against Honey Singh in the Tis Hazari court in Delhi.

On September 3, 2021, popular singer Honey Singh appeared before the Tis Hazari Court in Delhi to hear the serious charges against him. When ETimes contacted lead attorney Sandeep Kapur, the attorney admitted that she would be able to go to Honey’s house to collect her belongings. However, Sandeep had also added that Metropolitan Magistrate Tania Singh had advised Honey and Shalini to consider reconciliation before taking the final step. He had explained:
“Honey Singh and his parents appeared in court on Friday. A temporary legal protection has been granted and on Sunday Shalini Talwar will go to her house to collect all her belongings and lawyers may be present. The judge (Tania Singh) tried to see if there was a chance of reconciliation or not because she advised them in the chamber and asked them both to think about it.
On the professional front, Honey Singh’s last song, Ka Kha Ga, was released in June 2022.
