Mangaluru, October 28: In a shocking incident, a man committed suicide by hanging himself from a tree after murdering his wife in the village of Pilar, below the boundaries of the Ullal police station. According to the Times of India report, the incident happened on Thursday afternoon. The couple have a son and a daughter, the report added.

According to the reports, the couple has frequently argued. The man identified as Shivananda was suspicious of his wife Shoba’s fidelity. According to her son, the couple had an argument on Thursday morning. When the incident happened, the couple’s son and daughter were not at home. The woman’s body was in the bedroom. It is a murder followed by suicide. Forensic scientists say it’s possible he suffocated or strangled his wife, either with a pillow or by strangling her with his hands. After the murder, Shivananda hanged himself from a tree behind the house. One case was registered by the police under the relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). In another incident, Karnataka police arrested three men from a family for the murder of a 19-year-old boy related to an intercaste relationship in Vijayapura district. The boy was killed after the trio made him drink poison and his body, stuffed in a burlap sack, was thrown into the Krishna River.
