Texas police have arrested a woman they say shot and killed her children’s father in a custody swap.
Keshante Shamirra HarrisThe 27-year-old is accused of shooting Aaron Konte Williams29, on Sunday night, when Williams dropped one of the two children he shares with Harris.
According to a Houston Police Department press release, Williams and Harris were “in a previous relationship,” and Williams brought back one of the children from a weekend visit.
Williams “had his current girlfriend with him in the vehicle at the time of the exchange,” police said, which apparently angered Harris.
“Harris was upset that Williams’ girlfriend was present at the time of the exchange and shot Williams multiple times,” police said. “Williams was hit in the arm and leg.”
According to a court filing, Harris “shot” at ‘Williams’ even though he knew at least one child was with him [Williams’] vehicle[.]”
She reportedly fired the gun four times, hitting Williams with two bullets. She was then “torn [Williams’] necklace off [Williams’] neck” and then “crashed in and crashed [Williams’] vehicle against a light pole.”
Police say Williams was treated at a local hospital. His wounds are not life-threatening, and neither his girlfriend nor the child in the car at the time were hurt.
Court records show Harris is charged with aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon.
Harris County Sheriff’s Office records show that Harris is currently in custody with a hearing scheduled for Thursday.
