A Kwekwe MAN is said to have killed his wife by viciously attacking her with a log at the height of an infidelity dispute.
The incident, which sent the mining town into shock, happened on Friday night.
Midlands Police spokesman Emmanuel Mahoko said John Manhembe, 42, of Haven Estate Kwekwe, had a misunderstanding with his wife Talent Ncube, 23, after he confronted her about suspected fraud.
“They started arguing in her room. John then picked up a log and hit the now deceased woman all over her body until she fell unconscious. After committing the crime, John fled the scene,” Mahoko said.
The matter was reported to police, who visited the scene of the crime that led to Manhembe’s arrest.
The deceased suffered fractures and bruises all over her body.
The body was taken to the Kwekwe morgue for an autopsy.
“We reiterate our appeal to the public to resolve issues amicably or to seek help from church leaders, village elders/leaders rather than use force as it may result in loss of life as in this case,” Mahoko said.
