Miranda Lambert announced that her new album Postcards From Texas will be released on September 13. It is Lambert's first album under her new deal with Republic Records. In a Instagram post Announcing the album and releasing the cover, Lambert wrote, “Every song is a letter from me to you 💌” Lambert also shared the third single from the album, “Alimony,” which the country superstar co-produced with Shane McAnally And Natalie Hemby. In a press release, Lambert said, “My parents were private investigators in Dallas, Texas who worked on a lot of divorce cases in high-society parts of town, so this wasn't hard to write. I'd heard about it my whole life. We intentionally used every Texas metaphor we could think of; we wanted to take something pretty crappy and put some humor back into it. I mean, the guy gets off pretty easy if he just moves back in with his mom.” (diversity)
