Miranda Lambert announces new album “Postcards From Texas”: Listen to “Alimony”

A new album from Miranda Lambert is on the way. The country great announced today that Postcards From Texas will be released in September. Lambert's first release for Republic includes current singles “Wranglers” and “Dammit Randy” as well as “Alimony,” a new album out today. Written with veteran talents Shane McAnally and Natalie Hemby, it's a rocking shuffle that centers around a wordplay about the Alamo.

Here is Lambert’s statement on the track:

We were out at my barn. I was showing Shane and Natalie the horses and asked him if he had any other titles. He said he did, and I said, “What is that? Because your last one was 'Looking Back on Luckenbach,' and I didn't think you could top that. He said, “Well, 'When you leave me in San Antone, don't forget the Alamo-neeeee…'” Natalie and I said, “All right, Shane! Stop bragging.”

We went back into the house and got the guitars, and I specifically said, “I want a shuffle, man.” I love shuffle so much, and this record needed a shuffle! I knew I wanted one in my set because I hadn't done one in a long time – and everyone loves shuffle.
