Miranda Lambert will release her next album, Postcards from Texas, next month. When speaking about the upcoming project in the past, she promised it would be “very country.” In addition, she explained that it was obvious that they recorded the songs in Texas. Yesterday (July 31), Lambert released an acoustic version of her latest single, “Alimony,” which backs up her previous statements about the album.
In the video, Lambert sits on a stool and strums her acoustic guitar while singing “Alimony.” However, she is not alone in the session. She is accompanied by a pedal steel guitar during her performance. The performance is, as she wrote in the post's caption, “Honky Tonk as Hell.” Watch the stripped-down performance video below.

Miranda Lambert is preparing for her next album
Miranda Lambert released “Alimony” last Wednesday (July 24) when she announced the official release date of Postcards from Texas. She co-wrote the song with Natalie Hemby and Shane McAnally on her farm. In a press release, she discussed how the trio came up with the song.
“I showed Shane and Natalie the horses and asked if he had any other titles,” she recalled. “He said he had one and I said, 'What is that? Because your last one was Looking Back on Luckenbach and I didn't think he could top that. He said, 'So when you leave me in San Antone, think about the Alamo-neee,'” she added.
It wasn't long before they were at Lambert's house with their guitars, rehearsing the rest of the song. “We intentionally used every Texas metaphor we could think of,” she recalls.
