Miranda Lambert presents new song “Alimony” after Brendan McLoughlin dance scandal

Miranda Lambert debuted a new song titled “Alimony,” in which she warns her husband not to cheat on her. It comes less than a month after husband Brendan McLoughlinScandal in which he was caught on video rubbing himself against another woman.

The 40-year-old “Kerosene” singer posted a video of the chorus on Instagram on Sunday, July 21, which features her band members dancing. Over it, Miranda sang, “When you start to drop out, only one thing can comfort me / When you leave me behind in San Antone… think about the alimony.”

The new song comes after Brendan, 32, was filmed dancing and chatting with other women at Miranda's Nashville bar Casa Rosa in TikTok videos from June 24. Miranda wrote in the caption: “UNRELEASED SONG 'ALIMONY'.”

Miranda began the video wearing a cowboy hat, blue denim miniskirt, and white cowboy boots, performing a line dance while holding a soda can with a big smile on her face.

Several fans seemed to reference the former New York police officer’s actions in the comments on the “Wranglers” singer’s post.

“I would NEVER leave you or make you feel uncomfortable because of my behavior,” one person wrote, while another added, “You are such a Texan girl!! Trust me, a born and raised Texan! You are not taking any nonsense from any of these guys!”

Miranda has already performed the song on tour, although it hasn't been heard on the radio yet. A TikTok user shared a more detailed video of it, in which additional lyrics can be heard.

She sings about the “Stetson hat you wear all the time,” “those really expensive rounds of golf,” and “that diamond you're still paying off.” The post included photos of Brendan wearing a cowboy hat while playing golf and Miranda's hand with her diamond engagement ring superimposed over the concert video.

The user admitted that he didn't know when Miranda wrote the tune, but said, “If you ask me, it sounds like she wrote this last week.”

The couple has not publicly addressed Brendan's scandal, which involved a woman rubbing herself against him and them later hugging. In another clip, a second woman appeared who appeared to have a deep conversation with the Staten Island, New York native, and even held his face with her hands.

“Miranda Lambert, come and get your husband,” read the text above the footage of the scandalous scene.

The mystery woman who danced with Brendan claimed in an exclusive interview with In Touch that their interaction was “innocent.”

“Earlier in the evening, we noticed him in the roped off area outside the bar. We recognized him and all thought it was cool that he was there and mentioned that we were hoping for a performance from Miranda,” the woman, who wished to remain anonymous, said on June 26. “We enjoyed our evening again, drinking and dancing together and just having a good time.”

As they approached the cordoned off area, the ladies asked “if he would take a photo with the bride-to-be.”

“Of course he said, and we thanked him,” the bar patron continued. “Somehow we were later let into the roped off area where he was. I'm not sure how that came about or happened. We all danced together, laughed and talked and thanked him for helping to make our bride-to-be's night so special and fun. He was gracious, polite and kind. He laughed at us a lot because we're a silly bunch and had a lot of fun just dancing and messing around together.”

The woman stressed that “nothing inappropriate was ever said” between the people and that “apart from friendly, innocent dancing and talking, there was no atmosphere at all.”

Despite the drama, Brendan and Miranda appeared together and happy in a selfie she shared on July 18. “Tell me you're from Texas without telling me you're from Texas,” she wrote in the caption, where the duo posed outside an Austin FC MLS game while wearing a logo shirt of the team.
