Miranda Lambert released her new single Alimony on Wednesday.

The country song is about a woman who wants to divorce her husband and demands spousal support.

The lyrics go: “Once you get caught, you gotta know that they'll all be as good as mine.”

“I called this lawyer in Dallas who lives in this palace. So I know he's good at winning when you think you've missed something.”

According to People, Miranda said of the song's origins: “Everyone loves a shuffle.”

“My parents were private investigators in Dallas, Texas, and worked a lot of divorce cases in the upscale parts of town, so this wasn't hard to write.

“I've heard about it all my life.

“We intentionally used every Texas metaphor we could think of. We wanted to take something pretty crappy and put some humor back into it.”

She continued, “I mean, the guy gets off pretty easy by just moving back in with his mom.”

“Alimony” is part of the upcoming 14-song album “Postcards From Texas”.

EXIT?

Miranda's lyrics come weeks after her husband Brendan was caught soliciting women in June.

Brendan was spotted at his wife's bar in Nashville, Casa Rosa.

Videos of the incident were posted on TikTok and then deleted; however, The US Sun obtained the videos taken by a bar patron.

Brendan was seen having an intimate conversation with a woman at the bar while dancing with another person.

The woman was also seen stroking Brendan's face.

A source told The US Sun: “He behaved like this for hours.”

Miranda Lambert's relationship history

Miranda Lambert rose to fame in 2003 after appearing on Nashville Star. The singer released a string of hits that made her known in the mainstream country world. Early in her career, she was in a relationship with country singer Blake Shelton, whom she eventually married. However, the couple divorced in 2015 and both have moved on.

Here's a look at Miranda's relationship history:

Blake Shelton:

Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton got engaged in 2010 after dating for several years. The couple married in 2011 and remained together until 2015.

Anderson East:

Miranda and Anderson made their relationship public in 2016. They were together for two years and split up in 2018.

Evan Felker:

Miranda and Evan, famous as a singer with the Turnpike Troubadours, dated briefly from June to August 2018. At the time, Evan was still legally married to his estranged wife Staci Felker.

Brendan McLoughlin:

Miranda debuted her romance with Brendan in February 2019 and announced that they were married. They celebrated their second wedding anniversary in February 2021 and attended the Grammy Awards together two months later.

After the video went viral, one of the women featured with Brendan told her story to InTouch.

“We recognized him and all thought it was cool that he was there and mentioned that we were hoping for a performance by Miranda,” she recalls.

“Somehow we were later let into the cordoned off area where he was. I'm not sure how that was initiated or happened.”

The woman said Miranda's husband was “friendly and easy-going, but never in any way inappropriate or suggestive.”

She continued, “He wasn't flirtatious,” and noted that the closeness was due to the loud music in the bar.

When asked why she was stroking Brendan's face, the woman said, “I'm not sure why I put my hands on his face – I just tend to do that sometimes without even realizing it.”

“I am responsible for how this appeared to the outside world.

“I never meant it in a suggestive way, probably more 'motherly', because that's just the way I am, but that wasn't meant to reflect badly on him at all.”

Miranda has been married to Brendan since January 2019.
