The angry woman’s family began a legal battle with Australian authorities over custody of their children. According to reports, her son Amartya had health problems.
The dispute began after Australian hospital authorities accused Patil of being negligent towards her children. Eventually, the Australian government took custody of their two children.
Patil then petitioned the Australian government to have her citizenship revoked so that she could take her children and return to India for treatment. However, the Australian government rejected their requests.
Patil’s family blamed the Australian government for causing her extreme misery, leading her to take the extreme step of ending her life.
According to the suicide note found by police, Patil claimed that her life was threatened. She explained that she was forced to end her life to ensure the survival of her children and her husband Lingaraj. She added that she accepted her death for the sake of the family.
In addition, she claimed that from 2021 to date, Australia’s Department of Communities and Justice has ruined her family. She also claimed that residents of Verlie Street in Sydney had harassed her and her family.
Patil claimed in the note that a police officer’s family was harassing her and her home’s water supply was poisoned.
She came to Bengaluru from Australia and reached Belagavi by bus where she ended her life. The police are conducting an investigation into the matter.
