RHOC alum Braunwyn Windham-Burke claims ex-husband Sean owes $106,000 in child support and alimony for their seven children

REAL Housewives of Orange County alum Braunwyn Windham-Burke and her ex-husband Sean Burke are once again at loggerheads over child and spousal support, The US Sun can exclusively reveal.

Braunwyn, 46, and Sean, 50, finalized their divorce in November 2023, more than a year after the RHOC alum filed to end their 23-year marriage.

Their divorce proceedings took place in Orange County, California, where the couple originally raised their seven children.

Since then, they have both moved to Franklin, Tennessee, where Braunwyn has decided to settle down with her now fiancée Jennifer Spinner.

Sean moved in with the couple in April 2023, but has since moved out and is living elsewhere.

On March 19, 2024, the corporate strategist filed a motion to modify the state's child support rates because “there were significant discrepancies that warranted the change.”

He is asking the court to rule on modifying the $6,000 per month amount previously ordered in California so that it is “consistent with the State of Tennessee's child support guidelines.”

He is also demanding that Braunwyn cover his attorney's fees and costs in the case, according to court documents exclusively obtained by The US Sun.

Worrying

In response to Sean's request for child support modification, Braunwyn filed a motion for civil contempt on April 5, 2024.

The LGBTQ+ activist reiterated the April 2023 court-ordered agreement, which she said Sean failed to abide by.

The businessman was expected to pay $6,000 a month in support for his four minor children – twins Caden and Curren, Koa and Hazel – as well as $5,000 a month in spousal support.

They are parents to three other children – Bella, 23, Rowan, 21 and Jacob, 18.

He was also ordered to pay her $10,000 toward her attorneys' fees and costs.

“Despite the clear and unambiguous nature of these orders, the father willfully failed to pay the mother the financial support to which she was entitled,” Braunwyn stated in the filing.

Broken down, she claimed that total child support payments from May 2023 to April 2024 were $72,000 and spousal support payments totaled $60,000.

Including legal fees of $10,000, his total financial contribution would have been $142,000.

However, Braunwyn claimed he had only paid $36,261.15 so far.

“Father has an amount of $105,738.85 in his court-ordered payments to Mother,” Braunwyn said in court documents.

She is asking the court to order him to pay the nearly $106,000, plus all pre- and post-judgment interest and attorney's fees.

Sean was served these papers on April 12th and has not yet responded.

The US Sun has reached out to both parties for comment.

WILL NOT BACK

This isn't the first time Sean has filed for a modification of child support and custody.

Back in November 2023, a few days before the final divorce, the father of seven asked for the monthly payment to be adjusted to $3,000, equivalent to $750 per child.

The reason he requested a reduction in half of his monthly payments at the time was because he had “a significantly larger timeshare with the children.”

He estimated that he was with the kids “66 percent” of the time and that his ex was with them “34 percent” of the time, rather than the other way around, as was originally the case.

Sean then criticized Braunwyn for taking too many vacations and leaving the children at home.

He noted, “Additionally, in recent months, due to Braunwyn's personal vacations and… [what’s] The support payment scheduled for November was only 1/3 of the time at home, instead of 2/3 of the time on which the child support was based.”

His request for modification was denied after the judge signed off on the divorce on November 17, 2023.

It is unclear whether the timeshare regulations have changed since then.

BRAUNWYN EXPLAINS HIMSELF

Braunwyn took to Instagram on April 15, 2024 to explain her current professional situation after she was “left with nothing” following her split from Sean in July 2021.

“I hear 'get a job' a lot here when I mention how helpful my family was, but here's the thing… I needed them.”

“When I left my ex-husband he left me nothing and while I wait for the courts to make him do the right (and legal) thing, we couldn't have done it without them,” she captioned a photo, where she shows her parents her new property.

“I've been to school, I'm a recreation and wellness coach, I'm going back to school for law school, all of these things take time and I'm so grateful that they gave me this opportunity.”

She continued, “I was a stay-at-home mom for 24 years. Looking back, I should have gone to school and started a career, but I was young and naive and trusted someone who was untrustworthy.”

“I'm excited for this chapter, it's big and beautiful and if you can't support me… don't put me (or any other woman) down!! Xoxo.”
