Sam Asghari and Britney Spears’ marriage ended about three weeks ago and Asghari has now filed an official document asking for spousal assistance and compensation for his legal fees. Asghari, 29, recently filed a motion in Los Angeles District Court to end his 14-month relationship with the 41-year-old pop diva, and hired Hollywood attorney Neal Hersh to represent him in the matter. Asghari claims the main reason for their split was irreconcilable differences, which is a typical justification for California divorces.

Although information about the couple’s split only emerged late Wednesday, the official filing lists July 28 as the separation date. The paper describes his desire to receive financial support from her, while at the same time obstructing any such support on her part. In addition, the lawsuit seeks to order her to pay his divorce attorney’s fees. Since Spears and Asghari have no children together, the paper also said the valuation of their assets, both individually and collectively, is still being determined.

Her adventure began in 2016 when Spears attempted to leave a conservatory position that restricted her agency in her personal and professional decisions. Seven months after the California judge graduated from conservatory, Asghari, an actor and personal trainer made famous by his connections with Spears, married her. Spears also revealed that she and Asghari lost a baby early in her pregnancy in May 2022, about a month before their wedding.

The couple tied the knot on June 11, according to official documents. They also celebrated a wedding ceremony at their residence in Thousand Oaks, California on June 9, according to Vogue. This event was attended by celebrities such as Madonna, Selena Gomez, Paris Hilton and Drew Barrymore. The ceremony featured several outfit changes by Ms. Spears and a reception playlist that even included her hit song “Toxic.”
