Who is a man of God? Is it a perfect person representing the interests of the divine being who created everything? Or is it perhaps the imperfect person representing both his interests and those of his god? Your perspective would determine if and how you put gospel musician Sammie Okposo back in the spotlight. It doesn’t seem like he cares much about anyone’s acceptance.
Okposo has begun making attempts to return to society’s embrace. According to the findings, the CEO of Zamar Entertainment announced that he is organizing an audition for gospel musicians. The audition took place on March 23, 2022 at Zamar Entertainment’s office, Surulere, Lagos. Turnout was lousy compared to what would have been, but that’s no one’s fault but the once-pioneering minister.
Okposo hasn’t entirely escaped the shadow of shame that took the world by storm in February 2022. This was the incident that developed from a woman’s account that Okposo had met her biblically, gotten her pregnant, and then advised her (in no gentle tone) to have an abortion.
Okposo is married to a beautiful woman, everyone knows that. Therefore, when the US-based women reported this, they hesitated whether to believe the story or not. But Okposo himself confirmed it. He then apologized to his wife with an Instagram post. Then he seemed to disappear from the limelight. And now he’s back.
Nigerians take a while to get over things like this, especially when it comes to religion. However, Okposo seems to have jumped the gate of continuous public condemnation. That’s good, as some have explained. Finally, Okposo owes an oath of allegiance to his god and his conscience (including his wife and his large following). But the man got his groove back and that counts too.
