Shannen Doherty filed for an official divorce from her ex Kurt Iswarienko and alimony just one day before her death
Shannen Doherty, the star of “BEVERLY Hills, 90210,” filed for official divorce from her ex Kurt Iswarienko just one day before her death and withdrew her request for spousal support.
In a court document filed on Friday and signed by Shannen, the star told the court that she and her ex were going through their divorce amicably and that they would jointly file a declaration of dissolution of their marriage.

“This matter will proceed as an uncontested action,” the filing states.
Shannen, who died on Saturday at the age of 53 after a brave battle with breast cancer, also stressed that she was waiving her right to spousal support, which had previously been a major issue in their contentious divorce.
“I hereby knowingly and forever waive any right to spousal or partner support,” says the document signed by Shannen.
It also stated that both parties asked the court to stop supporting them both.

“I ask the court to permanently stop spousal or life partner support for the plaintiff and the defendant.”
The divorce had been difficult for Shannen in the months before her death.
In a June filing reported by People, the actress accused her ex of “waiting for her to die” to avoid paying spousal support.
“It is simply not right that Kurt is allowed to delay our divorce in the hope that I will die before he has to pay me for the divorce, while he continues to live his life and shirk his responsibilities to his dying wife of more than eleven years,” she said in the damning documents.
Kurt's attorney denied any malicious intent and said Shannen was offered a settlement in the months following their divorce in 2023.
“Kurt is not ‘just wait[ing] that Shannen dies,'” said attorney Katherine Heersema.
“He wants the best for Shannen and he wants them both to be able to put this case behind them and move on.”
In her podcast “Let's Be Clear” last month, she described the legal process as “exhausting.”
Shannen Doherty admitted she was “hopeful” about her chemotherapy just weeks before she died from cancer at the age of 53
“It was exhausting because divorce is not easy, especially when you really loved someone,” she said.
“I loved my husband and when you are hurt like that by his behavior, you just feel betrayed and like a fool.”
During the proceedings, the actress expressed her frustration at not receiving a significant amount of financial information about her ex's photo archive.
In her podcast, Shannen claimed that her ex had “circumvented the issues of his original works created during the marriage.”
The actress had demanded $15,434 a month in spousal support from Kurt and announced that she would soon lose her health insurance from the Screen Actors Guild.
After she first filed for divorce in 2023 and her battle with cancer continued, her publicist released a statement.
“Divorce is the last thing Shannen wanted. Unfortunately, she felt she had no other choice,” the rep told TODAY.
The publicist then claimed that Kurt's agent was “closely involved in the divorce.”
