Story in regards to the excessive profile US little one rights battle and different tasks filmed in Hamilton this month
A production about a high profile custody case filmed this month in Hamilton that touched two continents.
“Stolen Hearts: The Lizbeth Meredith Story” plays Sarah Drew (Dr. April Kepner on “Grey’s Anatomy”) and is about an American who spent two years bringing her two young daughters back to the US after her ex-husband fled 1994 with them to Greece. She visited Greece and the White House to reunite with her daughters.
The film Lifetime / Cineflix Media set up camp in Dundas for the second week of the month. It was shot on Melville Street, between Matilda Street and a little beyond Market Street, near St. James Anglican Church (which was used as a parking lot for the crew and a canteen). It appears to have been filmed at Dyments Country Bakery and Farm Market in Flamborough earlier this week.
Production then moved to the Scottish Rite later that week, but returned to Dundas on December 15 to shoot again on Melville Street. It was shooting night scenes in a house in Melville, off Albert Street.
Meredith, a former juvenile probation officer and journalist, wrote a book about her experience called Pieces of Me: Saving My Abducted Daughters. It came out in 2014. The former resident of Anchorage, Alaska now lives in Tennessee.
In addition to Stolen Hearts, Drew has signed a two-picture deal with Lifetime. A lifetime publication said it will be for the network’s annual Christmas movie panel. Drew is currently developing a film called Reindeer Games.
It’s about a fading Hollywood star who returns to his hometown after a breakup and reluctantly gets caught up in the city’s annual Christmas party. He falls in love with a former classmate he ignored in high school. In Hamilton, cameras could roll for production. “Stolen Hearts” is scheduled to premiere in spring 2022.
The intersection of the North End was the location of two film shoots this month.
In the former Bank of Nova Scotia on James Street North and Burlington Street East, an episode for “Guillermo del Toro Presents 12 After Midnight” was filmed in the week before Christmas.
Across the street from Grandad’s Donuts, the science fiction comedy “Relax, I’m from the future” filmed a scene.
“12 After Midnight” shot all over Hamilton. The horror anthology show will debut on Netflix next year.
There was a sign on the door of the former bank that read “East Suburban Bank – Invest in Yourself”. Vehicles for the show were parked in the bank’s parking lot and scattered along Guise Street.
“That was the biggest production I’ve seen here,” said neighbor John Price. He said trees were planted around the building and artificial snow was scattered on the grass.
“They filmed day and night,” Price said. “You put a lot of work into it. I can’t imagine how much money they spent on it. “
The building has not been a bank for several years. A nine-story residential building with 55 units is planned for the area.
Two television programs filmed on location are due to hit the small screen on January 5th.
“Run The Burbs” premieres on Wednesday at 8:30 pm on CBC and CBC Gem. It stars the former “Kim’s Convenience” regular Andrew Phung. He plays Andrew Pham, a home-staying father with two children and an entrepreneur. It was filmed on Leadale Place on West Mountain and other locations in Hamilton that fall.
“Good Sam” is a medical drama that premieres Wednesday at 10pm on Global and CBS. Sophia Bush (“Chicago PD”) plays Dr. Sam Griffith, a surgeon at Lakeshore Sentinel Hospital. She must be her father, Dr. Rob Griffith (Jason Isaacs from “Star Trek: Discovery”) replace when he falls ill. When he returns and has to work under his daughter, there are fireworks.
“Good Sam” was filmed in Oakville. The show also features Hamilton’s Wendy Crewson, who is the hospital’s medical director, Dr. Vivian Katz plays.
