Trouble arises as the Home Office becomes embroiled in a high-stakes custody battle in which a prominent city car dealer is accused of influencing immigration

The Home Office has been embroiled in a custody battle after it emerged that a well-known urban car dealer, Mr John Bosco Sserwadda, is allegedly trying to influence immigration officials to secure travel documents for his granddaughter in the United Kingdom, where her mother lives.

This development comes as Joshua Ssemakula and Judith Nassolo, the child’s biological parents, are engaged in a bitter court battle at the Kasangati High Magistrate Court, seeing Ground for Divorce No. 21 of 2021 and seeking to secure custody of the child.

Nassolo, who currently lives in the UK, claims that she suffered from sexual infectious diseases transmitted to her by Ssemakula. She also alleges physical assault and sexual promiscuity on the part of Ssemakula, as well as alleged refusal to pay fees for their child and that he forced her to perform carnal acts on several occasions without her consent, forcing her to flee her matrimonial home.

Ssemakula in his statement states that they celebrated their wedding on February 3, 2018 at St. Paul’s Cathedral Namirembe, Church of Uganda and thereafter lived in bliss for the first three years which eventually led to the birth of Nabbanja Jade Rozah, her treasured bundle of joy, led . However, the couple began to face marital disputes, which were initially played out in the privacy of their home.

One of the main concerns and the origin of these constant arguments arose from a strange relationship that Nassolo had with another woman, one Flavia Nakiwu! However, Nassolo later got engaged to her parents Nakamya Rose and Sserwadda John Bosco who, according to Ssemakula, made their daughter leave her matrimonial home and stay with them at their house in Kiteezi.

Shockingly, it is also alleged that Farouk Kirunda, one of the lawyers who represented Nassolo, was currently in a romantic relationship with his client and was therefore one of the reasons for the couple’s separation. When this powerful website contacted Kirunda via a telephone interview on his known number on Friday afternoon, he not only denied the allegations but also dismissed them as nonsense, although he admitted to knowing about the family disputes.

Back to Sserwadda, the grandpa. After he and his daughter remained at home, plans were made to eventually relocate Nassolo to the UK. Amid all this, Ssemakula and his parents also made efforts to save the marriage. Once a family entourage was sent to Sserwadda’s house but in vain.

Ssemakula was later left speechless after his father-in-law asked him to share screenshots, if any, of the romantic messages he sent to his daughter if he really loved her! While Ssemakula does not deny that their relationship may be over, he is categorically opposed to his daughter’s livelihood being solely the responsibility of his in-laws while the mother lives abroad.

Ssemakula alleges that while his daughter was living with her grandparents, he was denied his parental rights despite providing his daughter with financial support, basic food supplies and AAR treatment insurance. While the court has not yet ruled on the matter, Sserwadda and Nassolo have now allegedly used the said ploy to fly the child out of the country. Watch this area.
