True love! Techie is ready to pay 25 million rupees in alimony and waits forever for his wife to return | FP Cartoon
Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): A young IT professional is so in love with his wife of just three months that he agrees to pay Rs 2.5 million as alimony for their divorce and wait indefinitely for her return. The couple are in their mid-thirties and the woman is from Bhopal while the man is from a big city.
Both of them are technicians and work for different IT companies. The woman was in a relationship with a colleague but her parents did not approve of the union as they belonged to different castes. They took the help of a matrimonial website to find a suitable groom. The man was selected and the two got married.
However, within a month of the wedding at the Arya Samaj Temple, the woman left her husband complaining of domestic violence and harassment over dowry. She filed for divorce in the Bhopal District Family Court demanding Rs 75 lakh as maintenance. The case is in the counselling stage and is being handled by counsellor Noorunnisha Khan.
She told Free Press that the woman was determined to get a divorce. She was not ready to reconsider her decision. The man, on the other hand, was equally sure that he did not want to live without her. He said that in the one month they spent together, he had developed 'sachha pyar' for the woman. He was sure that one day his 'sachha pyar' would draw the woman back into his arms. “And he is ready to wait for that day indefinitely. Till then, he is ready to pay his wife Rs 25 lakh, with no conditions and no court order. He is quite sure that the woman will come back,” Khan added.
