Wendy Williams' ex-husband Kevin Hunter is demanding the talk show host appear in person at the child support hearing as he returns to social media

The ongoing legal battle over child support between Wendy Williams, 60, and her ex-husband is far from over, but Kevin Hunter, 52, wants everything he believes he is entitled to.

Their divorce was finalized in 2020. But his fight for support has been played out publicly in recent years since “The Wendy Williams Show” ended. Hunter, who frequently used his social media accounts to share posts about the allegations against him, claimed his ex-wife stopped paying alimony before she was placed under court conservatorship in May 2022.

He kept a low profile after disappearing from social media in May 2024, two months after he filed court documents noting when the “severance payments” stopped. But now he has returned, with a vengeance.

Hunter's recent legal move to require Williams to appear at court proceedings was largely met with scorn from the public. His answer follows Wendy's first public appearance in over a year. In August, the media expert was featured in a Facebook photo with Victor Bowman Jr., son of the late herbalist Alfredo Bowman, aka Dr. Sebi, see.

Williams' ex seems to believe that if she can visit Newark, New Jersey, to purchase his herbal products, she can hold her own in front of a judge while battling Graves' disease and other health problems. She has reportedly been living in Florida since last year after selling her $4.5 million penthouse in Manhattan, New York City.

Hunter has made his Instagram page private and his bio reads: “Father, Vegan, Executive Producer and Influencer, HUNTER PUBLISHING GROUP.”

Hunter has claimed he last received a $37,000 alimony payment in January 2022. Months later, in May, Williams was placed under a court-ordered conservatorship that allowed legal guardian Sabrina Morrissey to oversee her finances and medical care.

Seeking to revive his wealthy lifestyle, he filed a motion earlier this year to continue the payments even though Williams has been unemployed since her famous talk show was taken off national television.

A judge previously denied his request to see Wendy's financial records and bank statements. In response, the guardianship claimed that he had received unjustified six-figure payments and was attempting to reclaim those payments. Morrisey also requested a gag order to prevent Wendy's ex-husband from commenting on the matter.

According to The Sun, Hunter has been wondering for months whether Wendy's guardian has the right to represent her during a lawsuit over alleged unpaid child support.

In documents filed in July, he argued: “Ms. Morrissey is an attorney in New York, not New Jersey, and although she claims to have been appointed as a guardian in New York, her guardianship does not extend to this court because there is no guardianship in New Jersey.”

Meanwhile, Hunter also asked the judge to order Williams to appear in court on her own behalf and called on the courts to “sanction Ms. Morrissey and prohibit her from appearing in court as a 'Pro Se' litigant.”

Because Morrissey became a guardian two years after the divorce became final, he believes she has “no legal standing” in the matter.

“MS. “Morrissey is not a party to the divorce and therefore should not be a party to the antecedents,” he wrote in court papers. This month, the judge gave Morrissey 21 days to prove she has the authority to represent Williams in this to represent legal disputes.

OnSite shared the news of Hunter's fight for more money from Wendy on Instagram, where the outlet's followers harshly criticized the former executive producer of Wendy's show.

“Very sad man. Just let it be. Go get a job,” one person wrote. A like-minded person added: “I hunt everything except the job fairs I see.”

A third person referenced Hunter's history of infidelity, saying: “Mind you, he cheated on her and gave birth to a child while married to her, so I'm not sure why he should get anything.”

After nearly 20 years of marriage, Williams filed for divorce from Hunter in April 2019. They have a son together, 24-year-old Kevin Hunter Jr.

The divorce appeared to have been fueled by Hunter's alleged 15-year affair with his mistress Sharina Hudson, who gave birth to his daughter a month earlier in March 2019.

“He and his lover deserve all the karma coming their way,” one person explained about Kevin Hunter and Sharina Hudson.

Williams' financial situation worsened after Wells Fargo froze her accounts in January 2022 when Hunter claimed he was no longer receiving payments after health problems raised concerns that a guardian may have been needed to oversee her money.

Throughout her career, the Queen of Gossip has faced numerous health and wellness issues, including stints in rehab for drugs and alcohol.

In addition, Williams suffers from Graves' disease, thyroid problems and lymphedema. She was also diagnosed with aphasia and frontotemporal dementia.

In July 2022, Wendy's childhood friend Regina Schell filed an affidavit claiming the former radio DJ had $55 million in a Wells Fargo account.

However, during a scene in Lifetime's “Where's Wendy Williams?” docuseries, Williams stated on camera, “I have no money.” The four-part program premiered on February 24, 2024.

Social media users reacted to Williams allegedly losing her fortune. One OnSite commenter wondered: “$55 million before this lady took over. Where did the money go?”

Wendy Williams rose to fame in the 1990s as a New York-based radio host. Her nationally broadcast show regularly featured gossip about celebrities such as Whitney Houston, Method Man and Sean “Diddy” Combs.

The New Jersey native finally made the jump to television with “The Wendy Williams Show.” The popular daytime talk show ran from 2008 to 2022.

Hunter also served as Wendy's long-time manager and worked briefly on the show even after their split in 2019.
