WICHITA FALLS (KFDX/KJTL) – A Wichita Falls man whose convictions include assault on an officer, resisting arrest and possession of a firearm by a felon is now charged with pointing a weapon and threatening people while he asked for his 12-year prison sentence to be removed. old daughter.
Danate Shaw, 39, is charged with three counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and violating his probation. His bonds are set at $75,000.
Wichita Falls police said they found no custody records for the child. They also said Shaw did not contact them for several months before he went to the Sun Valley Apartments with his girlfriend on Saturday, Jan. 27, and demanded to take the girl with him.
Three residents of the apartment said he was told he couldn't take them with him and pulled out a gun and pointed it at his ex-girlfriend and her boyfriend.
The victims said before that incident, Shaw contacted the girl that day and she told him she didn't want to go with him.

When he arrived at the apartment, police said Shaw got the ex-girlfriend to call his daughter at her grandmother's house and ask her to come with him, which she again refused.
Witnesses said Shaw said he was on his way to her and no one could stop him.
The ex-girlfriend's sister came into the apartment and saw Shaw pointing a gun at her sister and her sister's friend. When she asked what was wrong, she said Shaw then pointed the gun at her and told her to shut up.
Witnesses said Shaw's current girlfriend came in and told Shaw to go and come with her. They said Shaw left and told his ex-girlfriend he knew she would call the police and he would come back to kill her.
Two days later, police said Shaw and his girlfriend returned to the apartment and the ex-girlfriend called police. Police arrived, activated their camera systems and said they had filmed Shaw and his girlfriend admitting to being there two days earlier to confront his ex-girlfriend, but they denied that traded weapons.

Police said several witnesses corroborated Shaw's statements and saw him with the victims.
