Riyadh — The Alimony Fund has paid a total of more than 52 million SR (US$13.8 million) to 11,700 registered beneficiaries, the Department of Justice (MoJ) announced.
“The fund’s services cover more than 75 cities and provinces in the kingdom,” the ministry said.
“It aims to provide immediate maintenance to beneficiaries to encourage responsibility and contribute to the financial stability of children and families.”
To improve the customer experience, the fund recently launched a new website that enables integrated digital services.
Applications for the fund can be submitted electronically through the maintenance platform Nafaqah.sa by providing the ID number and date of birth.

The jurisdiction of the medical boards has been transferred to the general judiciary under the Ministry of Justice (MoJ), the Saudi justice and health ministries said after signing a memorandum of understanding on implementation.
“The general judiciary will fully assume this jurisdiction under the implementation mechanism for the transfer of jurisdiction from quasi-judicial bodies,” the MoJ said.
“The move will help increase efficiency and harmonize the case law of the Department of Justice.”
The Supreme Judicial Council has established several specialized judicial bodies at the Court of Appeal and the General Court in Riyadh.
Judges and judges’ assistants have been selected and qualified on the basis of relevant qualifications, skills and experience.
The MoJ also facilitates remote interpreting for non-Arabic speakers through the ministry’s unified translation center.
It also works with the Saudi Health Specialties Commission through the ministry’s Khibrah.sa platform, which facilitates the assignment of experts.
The jurisdiction conferred on the general judiciary includes cases of medical error; cases of medical malpractice relating to private rights; and medical malpractice resulting in death, damage to an organ, or loss of all or part of its use, even without claiming a private right.
The digital integration between the two ministries reflected an effective partnership and institutional collaboration. — SPA
