Shaquille O’Neal, who pays $50,000 a month in child support, has saved over $100 million by reaching a private settlement with ex-wife Shaunie Henderson
Shaquille O’Neal is known for his amazing personality and caring nature. The legend always treats people with the utmost respect, as if they were his own. In 1992, Shaq joined the league and played for the Orlando Magic for a few seasons. Four years later, the Hall of Famer signed with the Los Angeles Lakers. This was the turning point in his career as he met Kobe Bryant and also his future wife.
After moving to LA, Shaq met Shaunie Henderson and dated for a few years before getting married. In 2002, Shaquille O’Neal and Shaunie made it official by tying the knot. And during that time, O’Neal was on track to win his third title. However, the former league MVP hasn’t had a healthy married life. He wasn’t entirely loyal to Shaunie.

At one point, Shaquille admitted he had “too many choices,” which led to the couple eventually divorcing. In 2011, they split from their nine-year marriage and things got a little messy. Shaunie admitted she once wrecked Shaq’s car when she found out. O’Neal still pays child support for each of the five children he had with Shaunie. He pays an estimated $10,000 for each child.
Shaquille O’Neal regrets his ex-wife’s cheating
Shaquille O’Neal has shown great remorse for the scam. There have been several instances where he has spoken out about his messy marriage. According to Yahoo, Shaq said, “You don’t know how good something is until it’s gone.” I mentioned that there’s a 76,000-square-foot house and nobody’s in it. It was all my fault. I didn’t do the right thing and I definitely paid for it.”
Shaq also apparently praised Shaunie for the dedication she has shown to her marriage. “When you lead a double life, sometimes you get into trouble. I won’t say it was her. She did exactly what she was supposed to do: gave me beautiful children, looked after the house, and looked after the company’s affairs,” he said. In conclusion, he took full responsibility for the fate he and his family had suffered.
Even during an episode of The Big Podcast, Shaq bluntly expressed how much he regrets making the choices he made back then. Shaq had five children with Shaunie, Myles, Shareef, Shaqir, Amirah and Me’arah. He still has a great relationship with his child and is also his mentor. Shareef and Shaqir follow in his footsteps. Shareef is also currently playing in the NBA G League. Shaquille O’Neal has really turned things around since his messy divorce. The $400 million net worth athlete was asked to donate a huge sum to Shaunie but agreed for unknown reasons. Ultimately, he saves him half his money.
