Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas agree on a temporary custody agreement

Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas have tentatively agreed on custody of their two daughters as part of their high-profile divorce.

A temporary consent order set out a plan for the children, ages 3 and 1, to move back and forth between parents by early 2024, according to court documents obtained by PEOPLE. The agreement comes after the 27-year-old Game of Thrones actress and the 34-year-old Jonas Brothers musician engaged in “productive mediation” over four days last week.

Turner will have custody of her daughters from October 9th to 21st. During this time they are allowed to travel to their home country of England and throughout the United States. The children will then be returned to Jonas and will remain with their father until November 2nd, with the same travel permits in effect.

Tuner will have the children again from November 2nd to 22nd, and Jonas will have them from November 22nd to December 16th. They will then return to Turner by January 7th. The status of their mediation must be filed before December 23rd.

In a joint statement to EW on Tuesday, Turner and Jonas said: “After a productive and successful placement, we have agreed that the children will spend equal time in loving homes in the US and the UK. We look forward to being great co-parents.”

The agreement comes two and a half weeks later after Turner sued Jonas, claiming he had “wrongfully detained” the children and refused to hand over their passports, preventing them from returning to England with her. According to Turner's complaint, the couple had previously agreed that England would be the girls' “forever home” and, in preparation, sold their Miami home earlier this year.

Jonas denied Turner's claims, saying through a spokesman that he “aims to co-parent with the children so that they are raised by both their mother and father.” Days later, the two tentatively agreed to keep their daughters in New York City.

Jonas filed for divorce from Turner on September 5, with documents stating that “the marriage between the parties has broken down irretrievably.” The couple had been married for four years since they got together in 2016.
