Dladla, Thato split after alleged infidelity

Former Kaizer Chiefs and Bafana Bafana star Josta Dladla and his wife Thato have bitterly drifted apart after allegations and counter-allegations of infidelity and gender-based violence rocked their marriage.

Thato has accused Josta of physically abusing her and fathering illegitimate children, while the retired footie star accused her of sleeping with her boyfriend in their marital home in the presence of their firstborn child.

The dissolution of their union, which was shrouded in secrecy, was revealed by a close family friend who declined to be named for fear of victimization. The pair walked down the aisle in a 2006 wedding of cosmic proportions, wed into community of property and were blessed with three children. Regarding the matter, the girlfriend said Thato complained that Josta cheated on her with different women and fathered illegitimate children.

What irked them even more was the discovery that Josta allegedly bankrupted their combined fortune by using their savings to provide for his illegitimate offspring. The friend also said Thato later lost interest in Josta because he abused her physically, mentally, emotionally and psychologically.

“With [also known as Thato] also says that Josta belittles her and makes her feel useless. She doesn’t love him anymore and has already hired her lawyers to help her file for divorce,” the friend said. The pal said Thato also complained that Josta couldn’t hide his anger from people as he mocked her in the presence of family members when they had their differences. After a big argument, according to the friend, Josta moved out in 2020.

“That was the last straw that broke the camel’s back. Thato wants full custody of their three children, two boys and a girl, and Josta to look after them.” Thato also told her lawyers that she wanted to obtain an injunction that would force Josta to pay 50% of the net worth of their combined estate as punishment for using their life savings to pay pop money for the children he allegedly fathered with his concubines. She also wants R10,000 a month for upkeep. The friend said Josta refuted Thato’s claims that he physically abused her.

Thato Dladla’s marriage to footballer Josta Dladla is said to be on the brink.

“He said that it was indeed Thato who abused him emotionally, psychologically and financially, leading him to vacate their marital home.” The friend also said Josta dismissed as untrue claims that he had been involved in several adulterous affairs , and said his estranged wife cheated on him.

“He said she even slept with her boyfriend in their marital home and was caught in the act by their firstborn child.

He also denied using money from their joint fortune to support his children and said he used his R8,000 allowance, which Thato paid him while he was working for their company, to support his others to support children,” said the friend. Josta could not be reached at the time of going to press, Thato declined to comment.
