Kristin Cavallari and Jay Cutler have reportedly reached a preliminary custody agreement.
Since the former couple announced their divorce after seven years of marriage, the stars have struggled to see eye to eye on the conditions of their family situations while going their separate ways. Now they seem to meet halfway.
Though Cavallari has accused Cutler of withholding money to prevent her from buying another home in Tennessee during their split, the two have seemingly put their differences aside in favor of their kids — at least for now.
“Kristin and Jay have made some progress on their divorce,” a source tells E! News. “They now agree that Jay will allow Kristin to buy the house she’s been looking at since last November when they started having serious problems, which is what prompted her to start looking in the first place.”
Referring to the reported custody agreement, the insider added, “In exchange, they agree to split time with their children, one week and one week off. They let the kids stay in the house and Kristin will stay a week, then Jay will stay a week.”
The Very Cavallari star originally filed for primary custody of their children. With this temporary deal, Cavallari and the former NFL player, who share sons Camden, 7, and Jaxon, 5, and daughter Saylor, 4, will have their children every two weeks after the reality star married in her new settled at home.
A former source revealed that lifestyle differences were a point of contention for the former lovers, who had argued “a lot” over their disagreements over the years. The 33-year-old TV personality and the 36-year-old athlete’s divorce court documents have shown recently that the process has been more than just messy while maintaining an amicable presence as co-parents in the spotlight.
