my spouse’s infidelity affecting our youngsters; Divorcing husband tells courtroom

A man, Sule Haliu, has asked a customary court in Nyanya, Abuja, to dissolve his marriage to his wife Ada because her infidelity was affecting the children mentally.

Mr. Haliru, a civil servant, told the court Thursday that his wife had been having extramarital affairs for about a year.

“She changed overnight,” he said.

In his divorce filing, Mr Haliru stated: “She chatted on her phone, made and received calls from random men. She has given up her marital duties as a wife.”

He also asked the court to dissolve his marriage and grant him custody of the children of the marriage.

Defendant Ada, who is a civil servant, was present in court and denied the allegations.

The presiding judge, Doocivir Yawe, adjourned the matter until October 13 for hearing.
