New text messages have revealed how Hunter Biden told his uncle James in December 2018 that he had run out of money and needed his father’s help.
The now first son told James Biden that he was broke and unable to pay child support in text messages revealed in IRS whistleblower documents.
In the December 29, 2018 news, he wrote, “I can work if I’m in NYC all day every day from 8 a.m. to noon for the next three months.” But I can’t pay child support, not for my father nor for tuition fees or for food and gas.
“Really, it’s all gone.” I’m sure I can make it up to you in 15/20 days, but he’s basically made it clear that he doesn’t pay child support because Mom has made it clear that she does will not do.”
Hunter, 53, also talks about moving into his father’s mansion in Delaware following the breakdown of his relationship with his sister-in-law-turned-mistress, Hallie Biden.
President Joe Biden and his son Hunter Biden arrive in Washington on June 25, 2023. James and Sara Biden arrive at the White House to attend the state dinner for South Korea on Thursday, October 13, 2011
The text continues: “Hallie won’t allow me to be in the house, won’t let me borrow money or pay me back.”
“Ashley is moving into my mom’s house after I told my dad I was moving in.”
“That night I tell Dad that I probably want to stay in the area, and in particular, live with you and teach my course at Penn and maybe start another course.”
In response, James Biden said, “This can work, you need a safe haven.” I can work alone with your father!!
“As always, we just need several months of his help to make this work.” Let’s talk about it. To me it makes perfect sense. It’s difficult to fully verify this without talking.
“Can you please call me at w/A?” We can develop a plan together. It can work. I will try to call you again, please Ans.’
The exchange was revealed in a litany of documents released by the House Ways and Means Committee earlier this week.
The text exchange confuses Hunter’s claims to his daughter Naomi in January 2019, in which he claimed he gave half of his salary to his father.
This came just days after financial records obtained by Congress revealed that Chinese companies sent $250,000 to Joe Biden’s private residence in 2019.
The payments were made in two wire transfers to Hunter Biden, who listed his father’s home in Wilmington, Delaware, as his own address.

The payments were made in two wire transfers to Hunter Biden, who listed his father’s home in Wilmington, Delaware, as his own address.
The revelation marked a stunning escalation in the investigation into whether Joe Biden benefited from Hunter’s business dealings in countries such as China and Ukraine.
James Comer, chairman of the House Oversight and Accountability Committee, obtained bank records through a subpoena showing that Hunter received payments from Beijing in 2019 while his father was a private citizen.
The records indicate that Joe Biden’s home in Wilmington, Delaware, “1209 Barley Mill Rd,” was the beneficiary’s address.
Two wire transfers Hunter Biden received from China listed Joe Biden’s home in Delaware as the receiving address, a senior Republican said after obtaining bank records. Hunter can be seen in front of the house in his father’s Corvette
Hunter is believed to have lived there for two years following his divorce from his first wife Kathleen Buhle in 2017.
The first transfer of $100,000 came on July 26, 2019 from Ms. Wang Xin, listed on the website of Beijing private equity firm BHR Partners.
The second was allegedly from Chinese national Hunter Jonathan Li, who allegedly made threats via WhatsApp while Joe was in the room.
“I’m sitting here waiting for the call with my dad,” Hunter told Li in messages revealed by an IRS whistleblower.
Comer, who is investigating the Biden family and its foreign dealings, subpoenaed financial records from a specific bank account linked to Hunter.
This revelation came just two weeks after Hunter was charged with three felony counts for lying about his crack cocaine addiction when purchasing a gun.
Hunter is due in court after a Delaware grand jury handed up three indictments against him, including two counts of making false statements on his gun forms and one count of possessing a firearm while addicted to illegal drugs.
It’s a blow to President Joe Biden, who stands by his son and is running for re-election in 2024.
Hunter Biden, son of U.S. President Joe Biden, sues in Wilmington, Delaware, U.S., for willfully failing to pay income taxes, July 26, 2023. Hunter allegedly lied on a weapons report (above) required for his weapons transaction. A photo of the form shows he answered “no” when asked if he was an “unlawful user of or addicted to marijuana or a depressant, stimulant, narcotic or other controlled substance.”
The move by special counsel Davis Weiss represents a significant escalation in his ongoing investigation into the president’s son for gun and tax crimes.
Republicans argue that Hunter is guilty of other crimes and that Weiss’ indictment on the weapons charges alone is not enough.
The maximum total prison sentence if convicted on all counts is 25 years, although federal sentences are typically less than the maximum sentence. Hunter could also be fined a maximum of $250,000 and placed on probation for three years.
According to the indictment, Hunter lied about his drug use when purchasing a gun in 2018.
The First Son purchased a .38-caliber Colt Cobra pistol in Delaware, a state where every buyer must answer a series of questions before they can get their hands on a gun.
A 2018 application asks whether the applicant uses drugs or is addicted to drugs. The box is clearly marked “No”.
Hunter has admitted that he was addicted to crack cocaine at the time of the gun purchase.
An image from Hunter Biden’s laptop showed the now 53-year-old first son posing naked with a gun. Hunter Biden is seen in a picture discovered on his abandoned laptop
Video discovered on Hunter’s laptop shows him naked and brandishing a handgun in a hotel room in 2018, allegedly five days after purchasing the weapon.
About two weeks later, Hallie Biden, his mistress and his brother’s widow, found it “unlocked” in his truck and threw it in a grocery store trash can. His discovery sparked a police investigation.
Additionally, now-President Biden appeared close to tears in the voicemail he left on Hunter’s abandoned laptop on October 15 – three days after Hunter bought the gun and lied about being a drug addict – pleading for help .
“It’s dad. I called to tell you that I love you. “I love you more than the world, buddy,” Joe said in the Oct. 15 message. “You need help. I know you don’t know what to do, neither do I.’
Earlier this summer, after a five-year investigation, the president’s son reached a plea deal that would have allowed him to avoid trial on firearms charges if he had followed probation for 24 months.
Republicans in Washington complained that the president’s son cut a “sweetheart deal” to protect President Biden.
However, the deal collapsed spectacularly in court in July, leaving Hunter open to new charges.
The collapse of Hunter Biden’s original plea deal also presented further problems for his father, Joe Biden. The president now faces more headlines and questions related to the case of his drug-addicted son during the 2024 campaign.
The White House and the president himself have maintained that he was never involved in Hunter’s business dealings.
