Wendy Williams’ ex-Kevin Hunter gets his child support requests rejected by the judge

Kevin Hunter and Wendy Williams ring the opening bell of the NASDAQ MarketSite on August 25, 2010 in New York City.

2023 may get off to a rough start for Wendy Williams’ ex-husband Kevin Hunter as it was revealed that his request for child support payments was denied by a judge on Tuesday.

According to The Sun, Hunter previously made the request after Williams stopped making payments due to the financial issues she was having with Wells Fargo last year and her financial guardianship. And now it looks like she won’t have to resume payments as a judge ruled it wasn’t an emergency situation and subsequently dismissed Hunter’s request “without prejudice”. Nor is she responsible for paying Hunter’s legal fees.

As The Root previously reported, Hunter relied on those alimony checks to pay his bills and keep a roof over his head. According to the divorce settlement, the checks would continue to come in as long as Williams was employed. But after the cancellation of the Wendy Williams Show, these maintenance payments did not have to be paid contractually.

This wouldn’t be the first time Hunter has tried to get what he thinks he owes. During a December 2022 interview, he attempted to take credit for the success of his ex-wife’s previous show, telling The Westside Gazette:

“It’s fair to say that the show rocked a lot after I left. My intellectual property in the making of The Wendy Williams Show and how I wanted it to come across was critical. They wouldn’t have had the success they’ve had without me. When I was gone, the people around her made her look crazy on screen.”

He continued, “When I was with Wendy, her day ended when she left the building, but mine didn’t. There was always something to do or a call to take. I was the common denominator in all departments including decoration, wardrobe and guest.”

The story goes on

Well, maybe he can be the common denominator at his next job so he can support his own lifestyle instead of depending on his ex-wife’s checks.
